Date at T.G.I Friday's

Due to National Day, we were only work for 8 hours per day this week; yet I don't really like it as the traffic make me headache and weary. Had a dinner date yesterday with my colleagues, sort of a thank you dinner for all the committees that helped out the annual dinner (oops, haven't blog about it tho); the most excited part - the dinner was free of charge!
Had the dinner at T.G.I Friday's, we didn't made reservation as there are always empty tables whenever we walk by. Good or bad?
My second time stepped into this restaurant after my first try 4 years ago, the classic plane still hanging on the same place. Heard my colleagues said that T.G.I Friday's did their renovation last year, only a few spots are differ than before, that's all.
Like the slogan: In here, it's always Friday. We were joking around that we should open a T.G.I Thursday as we didn't work on Friday. Something that never change in this restaurant is they lack of waiters/waitresses, we waited for them to serve us.
My glass of November Sea Breeze (RM8.90), it's something like a mix of cranberry juice and apple juice, topped with a lime wedge and soda on top. I can't really tasted all the flavors, I only got the sweet and sour mix taste which is taste like a Teh Ice Limau. Laugh.
Grilled snapper with tomato cucumber Vinaigrette . RM32.90
The chargrilled snapper fillet is topped with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and Basil Vinaigrette. They claimed that the rice served in T.G.I Friday's is awesome, I did tried a mouth, it's something like a herb rice, not bad!
Medium well Sirloin Steak . RM45.90
You get to choose everything for this dish, the steak and fire-grilled it just the way you like, the sauces, and the side dishes. My colleague have a medium well sirloin steak which grilled with black pepper sauce and come with broccoli and fries.
Tossed Tomato-Basil Chicken (I think so) . RM27.90
Due to sore throat, one of my colleague ordered this, without any grilled and fried stuff in the dish; pasta is topped with chopped chicken breast and tossed in tomato-basil salsa. I gave him some of the cucumbers, he seems to enjoy vegetables very much.
Friday's Shrimp . RM31.90
All of us didn't thought that this will served only golden brown, crispy shrimps and fries, at least some vegetables should come together with this what. Too plain and heaty. The tartar sauce taste the same as the fillet-o-fish sauce in McDonald's. Yum!
Tennessee Chicken & Shrimp . RM38.90
Finally, my dish was served! The chicken breast which grilled with the Tennessee sauce is just awesome and not too dry. Together in this dish, there are vegetables, crispy shrimps and Cheddar cheese mashed potatoes! Variety stuffs in just a plate.
Dessert Minis . RM16.90
I was quite excited for this at first they served up, those mini desserts just too cute to eat. From left to right we have Strawberry Parfait, Snickers Treat, Mocha Latte, Tropical Delight and Chocolate Oreo Mini Crunch. We felt disappointed for this, too sweet and they melt too fast before we started to eat them. Should just ordered a salad instead of this. Sign
Brownie Obsession . RM14.90
Not a big fan for brownie and chocolate although this look just great and savoury; I only had a bite on it. The only part I like for this is the vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Laugh

Precious moment with them

Not really in the mood for outing nowadays, due to the weather; hot and cold come together simply make me feel sick. I'll be back for more outings and foods, laugh. Had a short outing with family last weekend, it was my precious moment to spend my time with them.
This is a must for my sister to feed her sweet tooth, hope to have real Taiwanese dessert at the island.

It will be fun to travel alone.

Of then and there

"Old times" never come back and I suppose it's just as well. What come back is a new morning every day in the year, and that's better.

I wear this

It's a lazy afternoon where I don't feel to do anything nor step outside my house; I just wish to stay at home and doing nothing. Silly. Oh gosh, I had Wednesday blue now, going to work on tomorrow after a long holiday break, how I wish my holiday will never end.
Free my noon to clean my accessories, not much tho; just something that I use to wear during outing with pals or family. I'm not a accessories collectors, so if possible I'll stop myself from grabbing fancy thing which I'll never wear or use.
My current love from Pandora, a pressie for my 24th birthday. It's a bracelet with 5 clips which can load charms on it; spotted camera charm in Pandora store yet the price can cost me for another bracelet, so just forget about it. Look on my hand, I have brown and red moles, mixed! Laugh

The last dinner

Last back-dated post. Been invited to join all the Taiwanese trainees and their lecturers to dine at seafood restaurant, to witness all of them completed their internship; conducted by Disted-Stamford College. All of them were actually suit up, and prepared some performances for us. I'm glad that I get to know them, we still keep in touch until now, even-tho they have been back to Taiwan.
I'll miss you!

Off to beach

Another back-dated post. A week after we got back from Kuala Lumpur, we brought them to beach, this time, 5 of them were joining us. Like always, Hard Rock Hotel will be chosen instead of others, it's good to show them something different from Taiwan.
They were actually quite interested on this pool game, too bad we are not the guests over there, no fate to soak ourselves in the pool.
Another jumping photo, had no idea why Jerry posed like that (the person behind); and his hand still holding the sunblock bottle.
Wish to tell them the same word, the show that never ends between all of us! We shall meet again, in Taiwan! The promise we made.
I think you'll know where it is if you follow my blog, Oh Sushi! Click here to have more info towards this restaurant. They surely like Japanese and Western food, which make them feel home, because the taste is quite similar to Taiwan's.
Taiwanese trainees; you can ignore Jie Xiang (the one who wore sky blue shirt at behind) in this photo, laugh. Actually I just wish to have photo with 5 of them, not included him.
My all time favorite - Salmon Sushi. I think it's too over for me to have salmon once / twice in a week. My cute trainee, Lindsey will send me photo of salmon if she saw the trace of salmon. Laugh

Dropped by Huey&Wah that day to have a little chit-chatting with the boss.

First Visit to Edo Ichi Japanese Cuisine (江戶一)

I named this month as Sushi month, I ate quite a lot of Japanese food after-since the month reached us. My craving towards salmon is greater now, good thing? Laugh. Always passed by Edo Ichi which located at Island Plaza for times, I finally paid a visit there.
It has the same management as Azuma Japanese Restaurant at Queensbay Mall, and it's highly rated by bloggers, so I made my reservation a day before I went there. Customers were a lot even during weekdays, that's why we were so happy to have our seat while others need to queue for their dinner. Lucky us!
The interior is something like Japanese style, if you go there with a gang of friends, they will provide you a private area as well.
Other than Sushi King, other restaurants didn't provide sweet sauce unless you request from them. The reason might be, their sweet sauce is thicker than others, it's kind of waste if we pour too much even though we don't need that much. Laugh
They have the same dishware with Azuma, exactly the same!
Sashimi and Unagi Set . RM55
The raw fish slices are thicker than anywhere else, and it was quite fresh to have a bite on it, especially the salmon. Mostly of the set come together with rice, salad, chawanmushi, miso soup and two slices of watermelon.
Sushi and Chicken Teriyaki Set . RM42
I don't know how to describe the taste of the chicken teriyaki because it's the best I ever tasted! The way they cooked this is totally differ from other restaurants. Thumb up for this. This set didn't come with rice as you have quite a number of sushi. The portion looks small, yet it can fulfills you when you finish every bite of them. I'm actually drooling while writing this post.

After Japanese food, I think it's time to crave for Korean food again! Laugh

Last but not least

We gave ourselves a good sleep for the very last day in Kuala Lumpur, we only started to keep our thing half hour before we checked out. For the past 3 years when I studied in Kuala Lumpur, I seldom had my footprint stepped on Petaling Street.
So lucky that we managed to bring them over there before back to our lovely island, we reached there early so people were not many.
We had our breakfast there, along the food stalls street; the famous soya bean at Petaling Street! Over here, we have hot Tau Fu Fa, Lindsey and Jerry were so shocked because at Taiwan, they serve the Tau Fu Fa in cold.
4 of us shared 2 big bowls of Gui Ling Gao, a jelly-like Chinese medicine, good for skin! Even with the honey, thee Gui Ling Gao still with bitter taste.
Went to have a walk in Central Market, to see all the arty crafty things, I still remember last time I was here for Pipit Wonderful Market.
VIP of the day - Jeremy Teh who promised us to lunch together, yet ended up he had his lunch, and just came over to accompany us.
Last destination at Kuala Lumpur City Galley before off to Dataran Merdeka.
The largest miniature of Dataran Merdeka model is placed inside; over here, you can discover the city and learn about the history.
After the showroom, we entered the souvenir corner where you can grab it back with you if you find anything you like.
Last but not least, the Dataran Merdeka. The road is blocked as they had some event on-going that day, but it was okay to walk inside.
Jump, jump, jump! Even though Jeremy didn't touch on his cammie for ages, still, we can have this beautiful photo because of him, and he don't have a good photo because of us! Laugh

Lessons that I'd learnt throughout this trip:
1. Not to wear the same cloth with boy, as this will bring a lot of misapprehend even though it is the shirt we get from same event.
2. Slippers are always your smartest choice! This is the first time I wore this slippers after-since I got it at Langkawi last year.

. . . . . . . . . .

Finally finished the KL trip posts, after 3 weeks.

Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wings

After got down from Genting Highlands, what we did next was to find a good dining place somewhere at Jalan Alor. Went this area not more than 2 times including this time, but both also went to the same hawker shop - Wong Ah Wah.
Many foreigners know to find great food over here, there are hawker stalls along the street, but the one we went is at the end there.
With no second thought, we started to order dishes that we like, for the soup we had seaweed soup.
Not to forget the chicken satay; still, I feel that the best satay that I ever had is at Kajang, too bad don't have chance to try again.
Famous dish in Malaysia, Belacan Kangkung, Lindsey and Jerry couldn't have spicy food, so we called the chef to reduce the spiciness.
Oh my gosh! This is it, the famous chicken wings that I had it 2 years ago, and I was there again for it, superb and fingers licking good!
Please remember this restaurant, it's located just at the end of Jalan Alor, it also provides air-conditioner room if you don't want to surround by the mess smoke.

Finally had the chance to go dim sum too at Jalan Ipoh.

We were up to Genting Highlands!

Woke up early in the morning so that we can get the bus ticket to Genting Highlands at KL Sentral, don't know why during fasting session, the tickets also sold out that fast, so we only can get ourselves the 9.30am bus.
Another monorail ride to KL Sentral, not even a man in the station, too early I guess.
The only fast food store that open 24 hours in KL Sentral. Everytime if I happened to come here too early, this will be my breakfast.
After we reached at the skyway station for cable car, we were told that the service was shut down for maintenance, unlucky! Crowds were waiting for the bus to fetch them to the top, but we gave up and went there with a cab, we had no time to waste.
Finally, we were there, the weather was good and windy; I was the only one with short pants, I really love this kind of weather.
Only bought the outdoor theme park tickets as we need to go down at evening time, we only chose those games that don't need to queue for long time, for my trainees, this theme park is like a kids playground if compare to theirs.
Magic show was available, and I noticed not even a Malay was at the theme park! Oops!
Just realized there are not much games that we can play, but queuing made us killed our time faster.
Something that made them feel excited about this trip, the casino! Too bad Jerry is under aged and the guard not allowed him to go inside. He needed to wait outside while I brought Lindsey to have a quick look inside the casino, still dislike the smoky environment.

. . . . . . . . . .

One more day to go!
