Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant @ Kepong



Yeah, the KL posts still unfinished until now, I think this would be the last one, don't feel to bomb you guys with old posts. I felt lucky as I still got chance to try out the crab at Tak Fok Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant, I still thought I never tried this restaurant before we went there. Once I reached there, and saw the restaurant, I remembered the first time I was here with Seow Woon and her family members before we start our uni life. Didn't manage to take the restaurant's photo, it was raining cat and dog after we done our meal there. So enjoy the food photos below and go try it out eventho the service not that good; they won't bother you much after you placed your order, they served the food quite fast, but after that if you need to add something more, you need to wait them. Sigh
Fuzhou Tofu . RM18
First we had their signature Fuzhou Tofu, most people will come over to order this, it's really good if you dip these with the chili sauce that come together with this dish. I think with this only, I also can finish my plate of rice, that's so yummy.
Stir Fried Four Types of Beans with Belacan . RM18
If you want to simplify the name, this dish is Four Heavenly Kings (Sei Dai Tin Wong in Cantonese), which consists of four types of veggies and stir fried with belacan and some minced meat. From the photo you can see they put the brinjal to replace petai (scientific name is Parka Speciosa); this is a big NO for me, I wish to have petai more than brinjal here!
Curry Coconut Prawns . RM26
Oops, photo didn't even show you how the prawn looks like, failed photo! Giggle. They placed all the prawns, veggies, curry and etc inside a huge coconut shell, imagine how big is the coconut if you need to stuff all this things inside. Like the curry taste, really good!
Fried Steamed Bread (12 pieces) . RM7.20
At first, we only ordered one plate (6 pieces), it was not enough for us, that's why we ordered another plate to cure our greediness. Look at the shinning fried steamed bread, it seems hard but when you bite you, it's soft inside and it's best to dip with the crab sauce that I'm gonna introduce later. Another signature in Tak Fok Restaurant. 
Sour and Chili Crabs. RM28
This is it! Dip the steamed bread with this sour and chili sauce, it will be the perfect match! There are many types of crab cooking method for you to choose, pick the one you like. You will be surprised that the price for crab dishes are somehow cheaper than other dishes, it's the highlight for Tak Fok Restaurant which served cheapest crabs in town. This is why I love it so much!
Salted Eggs Fried Crabs . RM28
My all time favourite, you can taste the crab and salted eggs in one time; I still remember the first time I tried this, and it surprised me, and so I ordered it again. I always like to finish the salted egg first before I start to chew the crab meat, not even let go one single pieces of salted egg. Laugh! When we talk about crab eating,  I never care about my image, the best taste to eat crab is by using your hand as it's really fingers licking good dish! Drooling while writing this post. Haha.

Say Hi to Zoo Negara!



When is your last time to visit zoo? My last time was like years ago, so we took this opportunity to visit Zoo Negara but too bad there is renovation on-going to enlarge the zoo, we got no fate with some of the animals; roar roar, where is my bear? Took plenty of photos inside the zoo, but I only chose some to share here, I think you all should know how the animals look like bah. We used half day to finish the area, no kidding, I can't felt my legs after the tour, seriously I felt like doing the  whole weeks walking in one day. I'll let all the photos do the talking part (in fact it's quite weird to intro the animal one by one isn't it?), enjoy!
Who you think of when you see a giraffe? Kwang Soo from Running Man! I think I need to catch up Running Man, I stopped for months, too many episodes to catch up tho. Someone please help me to kill all the lazy bugs in me. That's the post, good night!

Ola, I'm back in Penang and I still carry my holiday mood to work; seriously I need to get back the passion towards my work, pray hard! Just feel to have a short post saying that I'm still alive before I hit on my evil bed; will find other time to update those posts, wait me will you? My first ever Black & White photo in my blog, seems cool isn't it? Kids is so happy whenever there is a camera facing them, son of my cousin keep chasing me for more photos, and so excited until his saliva drip on my bed sheet. Oh my gosh
Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy. Just smile with your heart.

Restoran Lan Je Steamed Fish @ Kota Damansara



I once said wanted to post some of my precious moment during my KL trip last year (can you imagine, it's another new year but I still procrastinating all my last year posts, kill me please!), and so here's the first dinner I had in KL. Really, another time to intro you guys the apps - Waze, you need it when you are in the middle of the lost city! Thanks to it, we were safe in the big big city and we might be lost for little while, yet we still found every destination we wanted to go. Back to the post now.
Why go restaurants that soon will mushrooming in my lovely Penang, that's why we hunted for those KL food that couldn't find at other places. Our first and yummy stop is at Restoran Lan Je which famous with their steamed fish (yeah, not stim fish aka me!).
We were the first customer that day, we reached when the shop just about to open, and maybe the drizzling rain was one of the cause that stop people from stepping outside their home sweet home. Parking is not a problem here, there is huge parking lot in front of the shop lots; finding a table for yourself can be a bigger problem here, so it's better if you can call for reservation before you go there.
People there were busy chopping lots of chili padi, for the steamed fish used; upon order, they will ask you what spiciness level do you want - non spicy, mild, spicy and ears burning; these are defined on how many chili padi they sprinkle on the fishes.
Coconut Juice . RM4.50
Normally if I dine at seafood restaurant, I always prefer to have coconut juice, to reduce the heatiness I'll have due to the food. I had quite a number of coconut drinks during my KL trip, feel lucky that I didn't get sick even-tho I didn't had much water, daily.
Steamed Fish . RM14-RM18 (varies according to size)
Almost everyone that go for the Restoran Lan Je was having a whole fish to themselves, hence we follow the suit, each of us order one whole fish; the size of the fishes are not small if you want to know. There is only one type of fish, that is tilapia fish and one style of cooking the fish; so if you want to have stronger taste, order the spicy one. Laugh. The tilapia fish is topped with dashes of soy sauce, chili bean paste sauce, diced garlic, shredded ginger (my first time eating so much of ginger) and some veges. I like the fish as they steamed it just right, and my parents will be very happy if they see how I clean/eat every meat that I can find from the fish.
Fried Sambal Kangkong . RM7
For our health balance, we should have more dishes to share, that's why despite of the fishes, we also ordered some other dishes like this one. Boys really don't like to have veggies huh? That's why if you out with boys, I think fried sambal kangkong will be a good choice for all, a common dish in Malaysia.
Egg with Prawn . RM6
The last dish of the day, just normal homecook, to set of how delicious is the tilapia steamed fish they served. In KL, it's important to know how to find delicious food with cheaper price (like this Restoran Lan Je), not all food is expensive like what I had previously. LOL

Peri-vileges of Nando's



If I say there are 10+ posts pending to post up, will you think that I'm crazy? Love Nando's? I got myself one eventho I seldom dine over there, I can't resist to beautiful design card; wish that I can actually collect all restaurant or boutique member cards for free! Back to topic, thought that I will only get the card and registration form to fill in, who knows I got this little boxie and the sticker at the back indicate the design of the card. I met a hard time on which design to pick for, all cards have their uniqueness, how nice if I can grab all of them! Showing puppy eyes.

Happy New Year 2013!



Happy new year to all my dearies here, I'm finally back in Penang; was at Kuala Lumpur for days but too bad couldn't really meet up with my sisters there, will make it next time okie? The purpose for me to get down there is to shop for my life CNY clothes, and also the last trip during Year 2012. Went to many places and ate lots of food which I gonna update those posts soon (IhopeIcan LOL).
That's the haul I got during the trip, peep the H&M bag, I finally got a thing inside the big big shop, nothing else just the bag. I shopped like a boss but I just realize I only grab small amount of clothes, will continue the rest over here. 
So, a brand new year must have a new resolution, I haven't got mine yet, but I want to have a happy life ahead start from now, which is what I feel right now. Should make a wish-list or to-do-list so I can follow the path and get the satisfaction once I cancel them one by one.

KissA Koyotei Cafe at last!



It's Christmas today but still our company didn't shut down like others, glad that we were working and had a little present exchange session during our working period. I hope all of us did enjoy and perhaps we can make another round next year! I'm back here for a short post regarding to a random night out with Ah Yeep, at first we planned to pay a visit at 2012 Apocalypse art gallery (his cousin is one of the artist!), but the warehouse is closed at night. Ended up we only had chance to dine together and we simply picked a place.
Here is it, KissA Koyotei Cafe which located at Hutton Lane, opened for years but I never step inside to dine; I used to have plenty of ideas where to dine but that night all the ideas just disappear and this restaurant blink inside my mind.
The restaurant is famous with their waitress who wear the ladies servant costume, sorry for the blurry photo, they were too busy serving diners so I couldn't really get their close photo. Me and Ah Yeep did talking and eating more, that's why photos are not much to show over here, one thing we can conclude is there are a lot of Japanese coming in the restaurant to dine!
Hot green tea is a must whenever I visit Japanese restaurant, never did I tried cold green tea before (I mean in Japanese restaurant lah); they are so kind to provide us a small portion of refreshment before they served the main course, a combination of mushroom, potato and carrot cubes, it would be better if they are heat up, but after-all Japanese restaurant serve food in cold, mostly I mean, so don't expect that much for this.
Salmon Teriyaki Set . RM25
For this set meal, you can choose either Shioyaki (a type of grilled salted style) or Teriyaki, I fancy Teriyaki style more, that's why I suggested Ah Yeep to take this, luckily he kind of like this.Like typical Japanese set meal, this included chawanmushi, appetizing small dish, miso soup, pickles, fruits and the most important, the white rice! The grilled salmon is quite crispy and certainly is up to standard.
Kitsune Udon . RM15
Nope, I didn't go for rice this round, change it to udon as I craved it for weeks, so not me right? I actually hold myself quite hard not to order food with rice that night, laugh! It's not hard to make Kitsune Udon, that's why whenever you go, the taste will be the same as well, but I'm not really like this fried bean curd, it's not that sweet like I thought, I expected more in fact. After-all, I still feel that my mama's homemade udon soup is best of the all, no MSG added in. Yum yum!
Yaki Gyoza . RM12
No idea why I always feel to order this, feel to eat something else instead of only our main course, couldn't stop myself throwing food inside my mouth nowadays LOL. This Gyoza is not bad (like I'm seldom critic food) but a little bit too salty with the soy sauce.

Get A Life



Hello dearies, I abandoned my blog for a week to buy time gathered with friends and family; so I'll only make a short update today, please stay tuned for the next post. My sister is back in here and I'm blessed to get some souvenirs from her, owh, seriously I miss the pineapple cake from Chia Te, Taiwan, you may see this in my Instagram. I changed two of my car tyres, renew road tax and insurance that make me seriously broke now, yet I'm glad with that as I know I'll be safer with the new tyres. Not much update for the week, mostly eat, drink, play and sleep, that's all, but hey sometimes I feel great not to online everyday. Laugh out loud
It's time to open a new chapter for my life, a brand new one so that my next year will be more colorful and maybe a brand new me?

La Vanille Pastry . Cupcakes & Macarons



When I started to have post ain't related to food, like one or two, I think people start to think that finally this girl has activities other than only eat, eat and still eat. Well, I always back with more food post after then, and this presume that I need more exercise to burn all the calories, swing away the fat. I'm dragging those real old food post, but pulling this new one over others, because I didn't see much people commenting or posting about this shop yet; hope that it's not too late to introduce new cafe for you guys.
Heart the color La Vanille Pastry used, the pastel blue and look at their logo, the little rabbit sit inside cupcake cup, make itself looks like a cupcake. Not hard to locate the cafe, it's just some distance from New World Park and Equator Academy of Art.
Your truly's reflection before enter the cafe, o...okay I was cheating, it was taken after I came out from the cafe while my tummy full of sweat tooth; not really think of taking this photo when I reached, I just wanted to feel the air-con in this broiling weather, it kills fish. 
You'll get to see this on your right once you enter the little cafe, so many decors that make this place feel warm and cozy, scroll down for more interior of this cafe. Cup with their logo are for sale, you can grab them back if you like them.
There were no other diner when we were there, I like this most, so that I can walk around the cafe like a boss and staff over there also didn't bother me. After you found a seat, please place your order at the counter and get your tableware there, but no worry, they will serve you your meal/dessert themselves, in case you strike down all the food or drink. I like the way they use tiny thing to decorate the shop, and among all I heart tiny colorful cans/tins and the wording plate, so zakka-feel.
Did I mentioned that I like to collect nice name card as well, surely I got their's too, seriously gonna get a name card holder, how about handmade name card holder? So so so lazy, my postcard scrapbook also half way done, will post it up once I finished it. When leh? 
Other than cupcake and cake, they have macaron as well. This time I didn't try it, an excuse so that I can come here again next time; but when we talk about macaron, until now I feel that Ete Cafe got the best one in town, although I just tried macaron twice.
Cookies! Not sure is this for sale or not, I think so. Before continue to food part, just to clarify that other than those sweet tooth that girls most like, they also provide few choices of light brunch, like sandwiches and fish & chips those kind, Om Nom Nom!
Ham Cheese with Fries . RM6.50
Other than this, we also ordered Tuna with Fries, both look the same that's why I just post one of it, don't mind right? If you need more sauce for fries, go to counter and take it okay? (Self-service). Maybe this look a bit normal but I really like it, taste like the one which make by my mama. That's the knack for all restaurant/cafe, to make us feel like home with the food, I got it here!
Peach Goo . RM6.50
I think this is one of their signature since I saw one big cake putting in their freezer. I googled, and Goo here means something sticky or slimy, that's how the cake's name came from. Even the cake is a bit sticky still it wouldn't make you feel greasy even if you have more, and I can ate the peach slices when munching the cake; not really a cake lover, but I can accept it with full heart after the mille crepe.
Hokkaido Cupcake . RM3.50
This is the most hit cupcake nowadays, whenever you browse through Groupon or EziVoucher, it's not hard to find a coupon to get this Hokkaido cupcake, now I also saw people online selling this cake. Finally I got to try this, luckily it's not sweet at all, and inside the cake, there put some cream filling so that the cake isn't too try or normal when you taste it.
The guest book in black and provided gold color pen for diners to leave some words, too bad I forgot left mine there since I was rushing to the next round. Will make it next time!

Penang Island Jazz Festival 2012 for my December



Hello December, couldn't believe it's year end now, December not always my favourite month but the Christmas feel does always make me feel warm although I'm not really celebrate it every year, so I kinda like this month. Wonder will doomsday really happen in weeks time, or should we start to store food so that we don't need to walk out in dark for 3 days? Let's not bother about it, live your life loud is the most important thing now; le sista and her hubby are flying to Taiwan today, they really enjoy their life now, my jealousy mood on now! Still, safe journey and please bring back souvenir and thing as many as you can stuff inside your luggage. I want them all!
Kicked start my December with the Penang Island Jazz Festival; my first time to attend this festival and gosh, it was raining all night long but still people were enjoying themselves with umbrella or raincoat. Forgot about the mat thingy we needed to sit on, we didn't grab one as well, we sat on the raincoat instead, with umbrella on hand ofcourse. The ang moh sat beside us left earlier and they gave us the mat before they left, I'm blessed and told'ya, good people is everywhere around the corner. If you slip the Jazz Festival this year, get your ticket ready earlier on nexy year and rock with them; good music night I had just now. Gonna hit the bed now, ciao readers.
