Sunny Hills killed my blue

Today is the first Monday that I don't feel blue, going to have ISO training on coming Wednesday and Thursday outside the island; a break like this is needed, sometimes when I started to feel that life is hard. Oh my, I need to hand in my report still, for the meeting.
Thanks to Mr. George who gave us this from Taiwan, the famous pineapple cake from Sunny Hills, real famous! Somehow, it killed my blue a little bit as well, like the wrapper where a meow and a buzz chase after the cycling man. That's how I define simple life.

Feel coyly with all the compliments, yet thanks.

An encounter at Tofu Cafe . Beds & Bikes

Wanted to stop for this cafe for quite some times, was attracted by its cafe name, Tofu Cafe . Beds & Bikes, wonder why they named it as Tofu. This cafe not only offers daily breakfast and snacks, but also dormitory rooms and bicycle rental services, like a hostel.
This is how the entrance looks like, located at the roadside, you'll spot it once you turn into Beach Street from Magazine Street, easily.
Found this little aquarium once I stepped into the cafe, which have their cafe name on it, and fishes swim happily, idly inside it.
Self take photos by the owner and mirrors are hanging on the wall, irregularly, yet full of artistic feel.
I believe that all the photos are taken by the owner, Joyce and Lucas; printed them on the canvas and they are for sale too if you want.
Found another column, some sort like a message board from customers / owners, found beautiful postcards there which I heart so much! One of them even have this words on it: "The seed of love . begins here", me love! I forgot to leave my piece of message there.
Empty wine bottles and coffee cups are displayed under the message board, wonder when can I start to collect wood stoppers.
Bicycles in the cafe! They have a food trail night cycling tour around these areas if you have more than 4 friends are interested about it.
Each of the table have a decorated plant in wine glass, a unique ashtray instead of a normal one, and lot of plugs for your laptop.
Beetroot with Egg Toast . RM10.90
They are selling Soup and Toast together for RM16.90, I think it was my first time to try on the beetroot, taste better with the eggs.
Soup of the day, Tomato Soup. Always if there are choices for me, I'll not go for tomato soup, but that time I chose this instead of broccoli soup, and it didn't let me down, taste good! You still can feel the tomato texture in the soup, slurp

We are in the list!

Every Penangite should know that 7th of July is our public holiday, as Georgetown has been added into UNESCO's World Heritage list years ago, this is the fourth year. Applause. Planned earlier to pay a visit on few places that day just to get the liveliness environment with others, another purpose was to hunt more murals which drew by Ernest Zacharevic; should have go during normal weekdays.
Never step inside this Museum & Art Gallery although I have been staying in this state for almost 24 years, my first time, no kidding.
Upon this celebration, we don't need to pay for the entrance fee (it's just RM1 for adult and RM0.50 for children during normal day), finally recorded my name in the sign-in book which keep by the museum keeper. Was suffered while taking this photo as people were running here and there to get clue for their treasure hunt held inside the museum. Memorable stuffs in the house!
I fancy classic type writer for quite some time, I like the old-school feel; someone is offering a type writer for me, should I grab it no?
The next door of museum is St. George Church, my first time to walk on the grassy field, at last, so many first time for this day.
Heard that this is Southeast Asia's oldest Anglican church and one of the oldest building in Penang, built by using convict labours.
While people like to hold their head up high, I kept mine downwards, tracking and snapping on the symbols I found on the land, I even stood in the middle of the road just to take that bicycle sign. Insane but fun! Laugh
After lunch, we went for Acheh Street Cultural Festival, walked to there as some of the roads were blocked out for this event. Saw a crowd in the middle of the road, everyone is looking at this uncle to present his creative soap bubbles.
This is his masterpiece, beautiful! He named it as Crazy Bubbles, he can take anything to make bubbles, even a badminton racket.
Another mural at Armenian Street, last time when I was there, Ernest Zacharevic was drawing on it [click me]. A photo frame was put aside with "R.I.P Rocky" words on it, his dog? No idea but it also became the focus besides that kids.
Another! At first, the mural was talking about a kids playing with his flying kite; our creative Penangite went to edit it and draw the monster to replace the kite, Ernest Zacharevic feel this is cute and draw a string on its neck. Next come was the teenage with his motorbike. Penang always so happening!

. . . . . . . . . . .

Grab some items during that week, will only blog about it on another post.

First attempt at Korea Palace

My craving towards Korean food never stop and I was so glad that I paid my first visit to Korea Palace with ppwen and Wei Wen after the piano recital. 3 girls with a hank of flowers walked inside the restaurant became a eye-winker to others; who cares? Trying so hard to order our dishes as we wished to get something nice, hoping that they can impress Wei Wen; it was her first time for Korean food!
Blue and red fabric lantern which indicate the colors of Korean flag are placed upon every table, have no idea why I like this so much.
The menu, give me a 'palace' feel with all the floral engrave on it.
The cup is put up-side-down, free drink are given while we were still assimilating the menu, that's why we didn't ordered for drinks.
Hope to get a pair of Korean chopsticks and spoon, in steel, someone please help me to get this if you happen to read this! Laugh
Free-flow side dishes were served once we placed our order, too bad they do not have mash potato like Aza Aza Starvil [click me].
Kimchi Jjigae . RM18
Is a must for me whenever I go to Korean restaurant, it will have better taste if bean curd was added in the; like this kimchi inside it.
Maekom Dakgui . RM29
Grilled chicken with red pepper paste sauce, the meat is best eaten wrapped up in lettuce, stuff everything you can to have better bite.
Gyeranmari . RM15
This egg roll was not in our list at first, added in after we almost finish our dishes, to fulfill our empty space in stomach.
Last photo taken in the restaurant when we were about to leave there. Hope to have another Korean food hang out with friends soon.
