Arigato!

After done with Italian food, it is time to have Japanese food; it was my first attempt on the new hot spot - Precinct 10. Dined together with Darren at Sushi Zento a couple days ago before my birthday.
The restaurant is quite big and they are actually divided into 2 parts, quite special.
While waiting waitress to serve us, saw this cute lamp besides the entrance, I just can say the designer is quite creative with this.
Oyako Don . RM16
Takoyaki . RM10 for 5 pcs
Yaki Gyoza . RM8 for 5 pcs
Like other Japanese restaurant, they do have the Kaiser Belt sushi and I realize some of them even cheaper than Sushi King and Sakae.
My all time favorite! A must-eat sushi every time I go to Japanese restaurant, I need to control my desire towards them but failed.

Venetian back street Tavern

I'm always loved, she said which I'm quite agree with her about this, love that I have people around me that care me so much and always want me to try on something that I never did. Scratch head to bring me somewhere I never been, she, Ppwen brought me to the Il Bacaro week ago, sad case that Wei Wen couldn't joined us for the lunch.
Il Bacaro, which is the restaurant of Campbell House, a place where we can enjoy authentic Italian dishes; it's not hard to locate it.
You can find this beautiful tricycle beside the entrance of Campbell House.
Felt good when I stepped on the tiles, it's like we walk into a heritage world and forget about the city life. They hang quite a number of portraits and photos on the wall; there is the lobby part behind the door.
The restaurant is mainly in brown color series, quite warm and cozy ambiance they have.
Decoration on top of our table. Oops, I saw the crack line on the wall, laugh
Italian restaurant is quite daintily when they placed their tableware, they will served us the proper dishware according to our orders.
My Earl Grey which they served with a cup of hot water and a tea pack. Love the cup which have the flower pattern.
It was a delightful change as the bread being served in a traditional Chinese bamboo steamer that you can find in dim sum restaurants. Differ with other Italian restaurants, they served crispy caky bread instead of baguette.
Spices served on a plate in case you need to add some into your dishes. I thought this is a little bit of Indian feel.
Salmon Tartare . RM22
Recommended by the waiter, and it did amazed me with the taste; I truly like the combination of only raw salmon and fresh tomatoes.
Cappellini with Grilled Chicken, Mushrooms and Tomatoes . RM32
Ppwen's main course, and the portion is quite big; the taste is quite special, might because of the grilled chicken and tomatoes.
Scaloppine of Chicken on Mash Potato with White Wine Sauce . RM32
Love the mash potato, yet I think there's too much pepper on the top of chicken, laugh; I can taste the white wine!
Thanks to her for the lunch, I think we both were enjoyed that day; watched Battleship and had a little walk in the mall after that.

The Tavern on the Harbour

I got huge amount of back-dated post, mostly related with my big day celebration; bear with me and I'll update them one by one if possible. As we know, we always get the tastes of Italian food everywhere in Penang, yet we never come across our mind to have a truly authentic Italian food over here, as in Non-Halal. Now we have an authentic Italian food called Via.Pre which located diagonally opposite of QE II; opened few months ago.
The restaurant is somehow hard to discover as it located behind lot of white pillars without any signboard, I heart the feel they gave.
Board that placed in front of the main entrance, that's where you know here we have this restaurant, a hidden one, laugh
Their mail box with carving on top, which bring out an image that Via.Pre is a Tavern on the Harbour.
The interior which full of Italian style. They have a sister outlet at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur that named as Vineria.It.
They have a barroom over here where they mix nice cocktails, served fine wine and champagne.Dessert counter is provided as well.
Different kind of liquors are placing on the table, as decorations.
The unique table lamp that made out from water pipe. Cute no?
Each of the table will have a cup of fresh flowers, like a sprinkle on huge table.
Here I introduce the handsome owner of the restaurant, together with him, there is another cobber that run this restaurant also.
Starting of the meal, we were served with a basket of bread together with mixture of olive oil and vinegar, free of charge.
A basket full of Baguette and buns, like titbits for you while waiting for meals; they served your food one by one, like a real authentic Italian restaurant should have this mode; served the next dish after you finished the previous one.
Melanzane . RM14
Eggplant rolls with mozzarella cheese and ham; this was my first time to eat so much of eggplants and the taste is better than I thought.
Cheese Fondue . RM28
This starter is not included in the menu, yet strongly recommended by owner, wanted us to have a try on the real Italian starter. From the photo above, we got a heap of cheese wrapping soft bread inside which also stuff with another kind of cheese.
Divide the cheese to few parts, and wrap it with pork bacon, it taste sinfully awesome! Heavenly food that gonna make me fat and fatter!
Carbonara . RM24
The classic spaghetti, cooked with egg yolk, pepper, crispy bacon and pecorino. This is differ with the Carbonara that I usually had; the taste of bacon is fuse inside the spaghetti, great!
Plate of cheese powder served together with the Carbonara, in case you want more cheese on your meal, to make it even creamy.
Have I got your interest to visit here badly? Laugh. It's really a good place to hang out with friends, for chit chat, good food and wine.

Sip the cold drink on top of hill

Planned to bring Ah Wang for food hunt, whole day long; it seemed like our stomach don't want us to torture them this hard. To burn all the fat and food inside us, we were going to Penang Hill for a walk; I keep going to this awesome place once a month, or more? Laugh. Each time with a different story mode, I'll never get bored with this.
I guess that day was my lucky day, first time to get in the first loge of cable car, so honor to stand beside the cable car driver too.
Wanted to take this photo for times, it's like another whole new world after the tunnel, like our life; finally I got one now.
Ever see this stairs on the way to Penang Hill Post Office? I know where it leads to, yet I never been there until that day, I stepped on it.
You'll get to see this vintage chair along the way to the top.
It's David Brown's on strawberry hill, a long forgotten garden which is a quintessential British colonial Restaurant and Tea Terraces.
Here's the restaurant part, with a big pond in the middle of the land, I'd heard that they served a variety of great food and fine wine.
It's kind of enjoy to dine at top hill with stunning view on the island; I'll leave the great food for my next visit.
We went for a drink at their Tea Terraces where you surrounded with trees and nice songs they play.
Shirley Temple (RM18) on the left and Grenadine Sunset (RM18) on the left; both with special taste that they mixed for us.
Can you imagine how fast is the cable car run on the railway? Like a roller coaster! Laugh.

Where else can you find these place out of Penang?

I am here, again

Love when my friends from different states come over Penang for a short trip and visit me. This round my accompanier is Shin Wang aka Ah Wang. A cool dancer who likes sea and nature from his heart; influenced by him, I felt it was comfy to walk under the sun.
It was a getaway for him since the place where he currently stay now do not have seas like we have here, Bora Bora would be the best place for him to enjoy the moment. Came here few months ago, and I ordered the same food like last time. Laugh.
Thanks to him, I had a little getaway too for the week, I really thought that I were actually having a vacation on a unmanned island.
Under the hot sun, we were not the only people at Bora Bora, I guess most of them like to go there at night, for happy hour and beer.
Bora Bora Special Pizza . RM13.90
Eight inches of pizza is enough for two people and make you bloated, because they topped with lots of ingredients and cheese!
Baked Potato served with salad: Seafood thousand island and cheese . RM14.50
Together with the potato salad, we got fresh veges topped with only olive oil.
I couldn't resist it everytime I am here, the seafoods they served over here are fresh and don't have fishy smell.
I think I really need a getaway, real one.
