[ Penang ] WhatSaeb Boat Noodles @ Carnavon Street

We knew about this little Thai restaurant long ago but only managed to pay a visit recently, better late than never right?
WhatSaeb Boat Noodles re-inventing the traditional small dish serving on boat to a normal size noodle,
other than their signature boat noodles, they do serve a series of tantalising Thai dishes, which we are more interested with.
For filling meal, WhatSaeb provide a series of scrumptious noodles and rice set, you can even order their snacks for sharing.
One dish that we couldn't find from the menu is Tom Yam, it will be perfect if they include it in the menu.
Cha Khiew Nom Green Tea with milk | RM5.80 (regular) . Cha Yen Thai Milk Tea | RM5.80 (regular)
Thai milk tea is what you need to order whenever you are in a Thai restaurant,
both of the drink that we ordered are up to our liking, the milk tea is so thick, you can still get the taste even the ice melted.
Green Curry Fried Rice | RM15.80
This green curry fried rice is one of their signature, and all rice set comes with omelette.
WhatSaeb indicates this under spicy category, I feel that the taste is just nice, not spicy; and you can get a lot of chicken cubes.
However the portion is rather small, but if you order some snacks together, this will be quite filling after-all.
Pad Kana Moo Krob Crispy Pork with Gai Lan | RM13.80
We always feel that the Thai style Gai Lan is way better than our Chinese style Gai Lan,
so we ordered one of the set rice with Gai Lan that cooked with crispy pork and we really like this dish to the max.
Although it is just a simple dish, it can tackle your taste-buds to the max.
Moo Krob Crispy Pork Platter | RM14.80
We always can't get enough crispy pork, so we ordered one of their signature snack, the pork platter.
Other than the crispy pork, they even give some fried pork skin in this platter!
Overall this is quite good, it will be even better if they can cut the crispy pork in smaller size, easier for us to chew.
The chili sauce is another plus point that enhance the taste of the crispy pork.
Deep Fried Moo Bing Grilled Pork | RM13.80
Moo Bing is made from succulent of pork meat with whole piece fat that skewered together and grilled on top of hot coals.
But I don't really like the big piece of fat that skewered together, I feel that it's too greasy to finish it.
The Moo Bing that served in WhatSaeb is different, you can't find the big piece of fat yet the pork meat is still so juicy!
I can eat a lot of these, just take all my money and serve me more, laugh

[ Penang ] Birthday Celebration @ Hanjan Eatery Soju Bar

We went quite a lot of places before and after our wedding, I guess it is time to share some of them.
We always love Korean food, or I should say I'm the one who influence Mr.Ong, and we decided to explore new Korean restaurant during my birthday; a place which is nothing like other Korean restaurants.
So we were here in Hanjan Eatery Soju Bar, unlike other Korean restaurants, this place is grandeur!
Once you step into the restaurant, you will see a wall with display of alcohols on your right, some murals on the other walls.
They offer a variety of alcohol including soju, more like a bar to me instead of Korean restaurant.
The drink menus are more extensive than the food menu, still you will get an array of Korean dishes in the menu.
Flavored Soju | RM32
Our first time to try soju, we went for flavored soju as we thought the original soju might be too harsh for us.
They have only 2 flavored soju during our visit - Apple and Citrus, we chose the former one.
It only have 12% of alcohol content, and it has a very smooth taste, I kind of like it, it tastes better than beer!
Jogae | RM22
We called it our starter, clams in soju, cooked together with some chilies and garlic, sprinkled with scallion.
We always love to eat clams, this is really up to our liking as the clams that they served is fresh and not overcooked.
Don't leave the dish aside when you finished the clams, you can actually drink the 'soju soup'.
Pajeon | RM18
Kimchi pancake is a must whenever we visit a Korean restaurant, it is the simplest dish among all.
We ordered one to share, the portion is quite petite compare to others, we feel that it is a little greasy but the taste is good!
Japchae | RM22
Mr.Ong's all time favorite among all the Korean dishes, that's why he couldn't miss the chance not to order this.
Normally I don't really fancy about this dish, but Hanjan changed my mind, this is quite good though,
you can taste the strong sesame oil in this dish, but it's not greasy at all, and they even sprinkle lots of fried shallots on top!
Meat Platter (for 2) | RM50
You will get to try 4 types of meat for this - pork belly, pork trotter, spicy Korean fried chicken and donkatsu.
Among all these, I thought I wouldn't like the pork trotter, but end up I feel that it's quite good with the sauce together.
This dish is definitely a perfect match with soju!

♥ Our Wedding Day ♥

Now it's time to write about our wedding day, it's gonna be a lengthy post with all the photos I'm about to share.
At the end of this post, I'll list down the details of services we got on our wedding day.
We didn't go and compare with other services, we engaged the one we prefer and pricing was within our budget,
then we decided to get their services on our wedding, pretty easy right? Read on!

| M O R N I N G   C E R E M O N Y   &   L U N C H E O N |
We wanted to have morning ceremony, luncheon and dinner on the same day, yeah very rush we knew about it,
so we had everything done on the same venue for morning ceremony and luncheon, which is at E&O Hotel and we nailed it.
Everything went smoothly according to what we had planned, but we didn't stay long for our luncheon;
half way through the lunch, we departed to our dinner place to prepare for the next round.

Of so many garden wedding venues that available in Penang island, we decided to have ours at Botanica Mansion.
It is manage by JT group, our buffet dinner was also prepared by them, all of our guests commented that the food was good!
They prepared a room for us, so that we were able to get some rest and make up done before the dinner.
Many couples did their wedding ceremony and reception on the same place, we didn't make it as we were short of time.
Overall, it was a good night but we never expect the weather was killing hot that night.

Every girl wants to look pretty on their wedding day, so looking for a good MUA is very important.
I'm glad that I found Wenxy from Xynderella Makeup Studio, she has a group of students, but I appointed her to be my MUA.
Before my wedding day, she liaised with me on the details: wedding gowns, hair color and preferable styles.
I do not have much request, so I just let her decide everything and she did a good job!
The hairstyle and make up on my wedding day suit me very well, for both morning ceremony and reception time.
She is such a lovely lady and we talked a lot, too bad I don't have a proper photo with her.

We did not hire any emcee or 送嫁娘 during morning ceremony, we go through everything ourselves since it was quite simple.
For reception, we thought that emcee is a must to drive the atmosphere else it will be quite boring.
Our emcee during that night was Henrrey Pang, he is another guy that fun to work with, and he did a good job that night too!
We wanted a simple reception flow, he was the one suggested the flow and game; we met him before wedding day to go through everything and brief him on how we first met, he then told the story to our guests before we march in.

A wedding reception is not complete without music, we had Phenomenon Entertainment & Event to do the job.
They have many teams under the company, depending on what style of music you prefer, then they will recommend accordingly.
We feel that jazz music (especially English songs) goes well with garden wedding,
so we chose 3pcs band from Phenomenon Band and the singers are Adam, Suzanne & one of their saxophonist.
Their voice is so good and soothing, towards the end of the dinner, they even sang the song I requested, without extra charges.

When we decided to have garden wedding, we already expected to spare some budget on decoration.
Mr.Ong surveyed some event planners and we decided to get the wedding service or decoration from What A Bash.
If you are lazy to settle everything by your own, they can help you with that, of course with charges,
with our budget, we only get their services on overall decoration, reception & photo corner and infrastructure setup.
The team went through everything with us before the event to make sure the style or design is what we wanted,
we really in love with the decoration that did by What A Bash!

I didn't get bored viewing all the photos that captured by Snap By Three on our wedding day repeatedly.
Our photographers were Junor and Charissa, thanks to both of them that captured so many memorable photos for us.
I really love the color tone of these photos, very warm and 'real' I would say, don't you think so?
What make me loves them more is the way they passed us the photos; they printed some of the photos for us, together with thumb drive (all soft copies) and packaged them in a customized box! I always in love with this kind of pretty thing.
